Jay Rock x Kendrick Lamar: Code Red (Video)

Latest single off Jay Rock's 'Follow Me Home'. This is about as West Coast as it gets. Featuring Kendrick Lamar's pokerface (is he able to show emotion?)

Lil' Wayne: Tha Carter IV (Album)

''You are more than welcome, to the Carter IV and,
Y’all enjoy it''- Andre 3000

Well, talk about a highly-anticipated album. Fans have been frothing from the mouth since 09 when Wayne  mentioned there was a chance Carter IV was right around the corner.

Double-take. Didn't C3 practically just come out??

Well it ended up taking a few years, surprise surprise. After a shit load of pushbacks, a rock stint, and a jail sentence, it has arrived. Now, to everyone who wants to compare this with Watch The Throne, please don't. Sit back down. Two totally different albums, other ends of the spectrum. Seriously cannot compare the two. Just enjoy both.

Wayne is the ultimate KING of wordplay, and he proves it the whole way through. Almost every single line on this album is a play on words. Your brain begins to hurt after about track five. He's that good.

'Nothing standing in my way, like nothings my security
Back to my journey, that bullshit don’t concern me
I knew I was going to jail I would have fucked my attorney
If you sleeping on me, than I hope you toss and turning
I’m so cold I’m hypothermic, ask yo bitch she will confirm it'
Lil Wayne (Nightmares Of The Bottom)

I must say, the best part of the album for me was the Andre 3000 feature in 'Interlude' along with Tech N9ne. 3000 is not mentioned in the credits so it's a huge surprise (yeah I ruined it).

It's the simple beats by mostly unknown producers (Willy Will, MegaMan, T-Minus) that make the album, allowing total emphasis on Weezy's sharp lyrics. Simple, hardknock beats. Sometimes there's just nothing better.

The usage of the merry-go-round-style beat in Intro, Outro and Interlude perfectly structures the record, by the end you seriously will be punching walls when you hear Bun B, Nas, Busta's verses in 'Outro'. It's great to hear T-Pain again with Weezy in 'How To Hate', but nothing on their previous collabs. 'Abortion' is another standout, 'Blunt Blowin' grows on you after a few listens, however hold your breath through 'How To Love'... Weezy slips a little here. 'It's Good' is straight fire, Drake drops one of the best verses of the year. And that Jay Z diss. Cold..

'Talkin ’bout baby money? I got your baby money.. Kidnap your bitch, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money' Lil Wayne (It's Good)

Countless hits on this album, even though its probably not going to be as popular as Tha Carter III (a million first week? I may be wrong, we'll wait and see), Weezy will no doubt add a couple more platinum plaques to his name.

(Literally no genuine youtube links for any songs.. best I could do.)

Schoolboy Q - Birds & The Beez (Feat Kendrick Lamar)

Schoolboy Q: BetIGotSumWeed

Schoolboy Q: Light Years Ahead (Sky High)(feat. Kendrick Lamar)

Red Hot Chili Peppers: I'm With You

You'd think after 10 studio albums and 5 years out the game the Chilis would struggle to live up to their high profile, but they definitely have hit back with an great record. Josh Klinghoffer has filled John Frusciante's big shoes, he's kept that ambient sound, but I can't help but miss that harmonic Frusciante touch that intertwined with Kiedis so damn well.

Regardless, absolutely love the album, Flea keeps those funky bass lines rolling, Chad kills it on the drums as per usual. I will pay any money to see them next year!!!

Everyone should pick up a copy.

One of their best. After a couple solid studio albums between them, Black Hippy have officially cemented their spot.

The Weeknd/Drake: The Zone

Massive fan of this song. These two go perfectly together.

The level Drake is on at the moment is kinda scary, I can see 'Take Care' becoming one of those sophomore albums that go down in history. Just as long as those Young Money cats (Millz, Gudda, Chuckie etc) stay off it.

The Game: R.E.D. Album Review

Many would agree that the way in which an artist goes about promoting their album is just as important as the entire recording process. I mean, whats the point of making dope music if nobody knows about it??

There have been many different album promotions over the years, from 50's pledge to quit rap if he sold less than Kanye, to Mr West himself's ground-breaking weekly free music fix through G.O.O.D Fridays. However none more peculiar than Game's recent social media tyrant - throwing disses at almost everybody who's anybody in the hip-hop world at the moment.

Labelling Kanye and Jay Z '#Watch The Squirrels' and then calling Jay impotent were quite mere, most just brushed them off. However ''Uncle Otis'' managed to create quite a stir. Frank Ocean, Jay and Ye, Kreayshawn (she got MURDERDED.), Lil' Wayne, Marc Anthony, Wiz and Amber Rose to name a few. Most have heard the song by now.

So, where did this leave Game? As the talking point two weeks from his release.

Mission accomplished.

Or did it backfire? Many people didn't feel it, including me. I mean, dissing Watch The Throne... give respect where it's deserved. So, fair to say we all were expecting VERY big things for The R.E.D Album.

It starts incredibly well, the newest Dr. Dre protege Kendrick Lamar's spaz in ''The City'' is incredible, ''Drug Test'' goes hard, and the definite standout track on the album ''Martians Vs Goblins'' explodes in your ears. As well as creating 20 or 30 new beef opportunities. ''Good Girls Go Bad'' w/ Drake, ''Red Nation'' w/ Weezy, ''Paramedics'' w/ Jeezy all top quality bangers. But can you see the trend here? They are all features.

Game's 'The R.E.D Album' is a quality LP, yes it does live up to all of his ridiculous hype (only just, he did talk alot of shit), but mainly through all of his collaborations. ''Born In The Trap'' hovwever is one exception to his mediocre solo efforts- hits hard thanks to DJ Premier.

So... if you're tossing up whether its worth the download or not, its a no brainer- give it a hit. I mean, what you got to lose? A bit of bandwidth? 20 bucks? oops.. backspace, who am I kidding, you won't buy it.
